Fantastic recap of the JFK-got-shot episode of Mad Men. The commentary on tragedy-as-catalyst-for-personal-change rang true for me; like the author, after 9/11 I made major life decisions directly related to the trauma. It ain’t fiction, it’s a natural reaction. Great episode and review.

She’s the quintessential working actor, and that is why her good year is cause for general celebration. It’s proof that hard work pays off, that talent will win out, that there is justice in a business that often seems on the verge of suicide-by-trendiness. There is hope, then, for us all.
